Rapids acquire German winger Aigner from 1860 Munich
The Colorado Rapids announced Wednesday the signing of winger Stefan Aigner on a free transfer from 1860 Munich, penning the 29-year-old to a three-and-a-half year deal.
Aigner joins the club after spending last season with the Munich-based second-division outfit, where he notched four goals and three assists in 24 matches. He has also spent time with Eintracht Frankfurt.
"We're excited to add a player of Stefan's caliber to our roster for the next three-and-a-half years," Rapids' sporting director Padraig Smith said in a club-issued statement. "As an organization we are committed to fielding a forward-thinking side and bringing in Stefan - a technical and versatile player who can excel in multiple attacking roles - will help us achieve that vision."
