Giovinco, Altidore not travelling for LA Galaxy match

Toronto FC will be without both Sebastian Giovinco and Jozy Altidore for Saturday's away trip to the LA Galaxy as head coach Greg Vanney takes precautionary measures with mind to their fitness down the final stretch of the 2017 season.

The TFC boss announced the decision Wednesday, ruling both starting strikers out of the Reds' only away trip to California this year. Altidore notched two goals in a 4-0 demolition of the San Jose Earthquakes last weekend but was substituted at the 65-minute mark. His cohort, Giovinco, only managed to play the first half before being replaced, too.

Vanney assured that his decision was precautionary, and didn't specify the severity of any potential injuries, indicating it's a "risk/reward evaluation" on the club's end.

Still, replacing the output that's seen Altidore notch 13 goals and five assists and Giovinco 15 goals and six assists won't be an easy task for whoever steps into their roles.
