MLS salaries: 3 of 7 highest-paid players are at Toronto FC
The Major League Soccer Players Association released its 2018 Salary Guide on Thursday, with Sebastian Giovinco and Michael Bradley representing the highest-paid players across the two conferences.
Third in the list is Carlos Vela of MLS newcomer Los Angeles FC, whose guaranteed compensation over 2018 will be $6,292,500, while the LA Galaxy's Zlatan Ibrahimovic will take home $1,500,000. Toronto FC's Jozy Altidore is seventh, meaning the reigning MLS Cup champion takes three places in the top seven.

The growing spending power of MLS is demonstrated in the increased minimum salary in its recent history. In 2018, the smallest guaranteed compensation will be $54,500, with the Seattle Sounders' Nouhou Tolo a notable recipient of that sum. The league minimum in 2013 was a mere $35,000.
