The Los Angeles Galaxy are finalizing a deal to hire Greg Vanney as the club's next head coach, sources told U.S. soccer journalist Grant Wahl.
Vanney served as Toronto FC's coach for the previous seven seasons but stepped down from the role on Dec. 1. The 46-year-old helped the club capture its first MLS Cup in 2017.
Los Angeles missed the playoffs this season after finishing 10th in the Western Conference. The team has been without a permanent head coach since firing Guillermo Barros Schelotto in October.
Vanney spent six years as a player with the Galaxy from 1996-2002.
