DeAndre Yedlin looking to complete move to Tottenham in January
Tottenham is eager to bring American right-back DeAndre Yedlin in London.
The Premier League side has already completed a move for the blistering 21-year-old, agreeing to a transfer with MLS club Seattle back in August. While it was expected that Yedlin would finish the current season in his homeland before making the move across the ocean, the player himself has admitted that he is looking into the possibility of swapping clubs in January.
To do so, he will need to secure a work permit, something he is hoping his Latvian heritage will help him with.
"I'm working on getting a Latvian passport. If that goes through then January is definitely very possible," Yedlin said of the move to Tottenham.
"The passport is a big deciding factor. I always knew I had that sort of background but I never really paid attention to it, but it's become useful now and I'm going to take advantage of it."
A move to White Hart Lane will give the American youngster the opportunity to learn from fellow right-back Kyle Walker, a player with whom he's been compared thanks to their similar skill sets.
"I'm an attacking full-back and I felt when I signed that England fit my playing style better, and Tottenham was a good situation for me," said Yedlin.
"They have Kyle Walker and I'm excited to learn from him and learn from the other full-backs, and from coach Mauricio Pochettino, who's great with young players."
