TFC unveil Sebastian Giovinco
Toronto FC unveiled its prize signing Friday when they introduced Sebastian Giovinco.
The Italian midfielder made his first appearance in front of Toronto media, a day after arriving at Pearson International Airport to a hero's welcome when hundreds of supporters greeted him during his first public appearance as a member of the squad.
"Thank you to all the people that came to meet me at the airport," Giovinco told the media. "I will try to pay (them) back on the field."
It was a nice surprise for the supporters since the original agreement between the team and Juventus had Giovinco staying in Italy until the Serie A season concluded.
But an agreement between the clubs allowed the transfer to go through early as Toronto FC, meaning he will be available for the start of the season in March.
