Michael Bradley opts to play for Toronto FC rather than the United States
Michael Bradley has made himself unavailable for the United States' upcoming friendly against Peru in a bid to turn around Toronto FC's fortunes at the Seattle Sounders.
He told reporters the agreement has been in place for a while, although he could join up with the team for the friendly against Brazil on Sept. 8.
"I'll be with Toronto FC in Seattle," Bradley told reporters. "There was some discussions between everyone at U.S. Soccer and everyone at Toronto FC, going back a few months to when we played those friendlies in June."
TFC is in Seattle on Sept. 5, a day after the scheduled Peru exhibition, and the playoff hopeful is currently on a run of just three wins in 10 games.
Designated Player and club captain Bradley has already missed seven games due to international duty this season.
Greg Vanney's side hosts Canadian rivals Montreal Impact at BMO Field this Saturday.
