New England Revolution sign Diego Fagundez to new multi-year contract
The New England Revolution have signed forward Diego Fagundez to a new multi-year contract, the club announced Wednesday.
"We believe Diego is one of the most promising young players in MLS," Revolution general manager Mike Burns said in a statement. "We expect his impact in the league to continue to grow and are thrilled he will continue to be an integral part of the club."

Specific terms of the new contract were not disclosed but the Boston Globe reports the deal is for three years plus an option year.
Fagundez, 20, has been with the Revolution since joining the team in 2011, scoring 28 league goals in 118 MLS appearances. The Uruguayan is seventh on the Revs' all-time goal-scorers chart.
He's predominantly been used as a forward in recent years, but has also found plenty of playing time out wide and in attacking midfield. In 2015, Fagundez posted a guaranteed salary of just over $150,000, according to the MLS Players Union.
Fagundez, New England's first Homegrown Player, is also the youngest MLS player to score 25 career league goals and make 100 league appearances.
