Gonzalo Pineda announces retirement

Mexican international Gonzalo Pineda is hanging up his boots after a 13-year-career in professional soccer.
The former Seattle Sounders man announced his retirement Thursday, ending a career that spanned seven teams in two countries.

Pineda, 33, joined the Sounders in 2014 and played through the 2015 campaign. He was released by the club at the end of the 2015 season as he mulled retirement.
Pineda also played with various Mexican teams including Pumas, Chivas, San Luis, Cruz Azul, Puebla, and Queretaro. He was a member of Mexico's 2006 World Cup team as well.
