Toronto FC made a surprise move with the ninth overall selection in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft, picking up University of Maryland midfielder Tsubasa Endoh.
The Tokyo-born midfielder was the Most Valuable Player in the 2016 SuperDraft combine and comes out of Maryland as one of the more well-rounded midfielders in the class. Over four seasons with Maryland, Endoh has made 85 appearances, scoring 12 goals and recording 16 assists in that time.

He joins a Toronto FC side looking for more creative talent to combine with Sebastian Giovinco, Michael Bradley and Jozy Altidore.
