Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez is getting the respect he deserves away from Old Trafford.
Hernandez was named 2015 CONCACAF Male Player of the Year on Friday, finishing above Bryan Ruiz and Andres Guardado in the vote for the category, which was conducted by member associations' coaches and captains, media, and supporters.

At the club level, Hernandez redefined himself at Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, showing he is indeed capable of scoring at a prolific rate by tallying 11 goals through 14 appearances in the first half of the 2015-16 Bundesliga season. He admitted in December that he left Manchester United after being given "a 1 percent chance of playing" for the Red Devils.
At the international level, Hernandez played a significant role as Mexico's national team defeated the U.S. Men's National Team in the CONCACAF Cup and qualified for the 2017 Confederations Cup, opening the scoring only 10 minutes into the encounter.
