Zach Scott will continue his long association with the Seattle Sounders in the 2016 Major League Soccer season.
The 35-year-old will put his retirement plans aside for another year and continue to represent the Washington state franchise in every MLS campaign since it joined in 2009.
"I'm pleased to announce that Zach is again a part of the team as we begin preparations for the 2016 season," Sounders FC general manager and president of soccer Garth Lagerwey said.
"He means a great deal to the Sounders organization and we're happy to have him back in camp."
The Sounders begin their 2016 league term in a home match against Sporting Kansas City on March 6 after a two-legged affair with Club America in the CONCACAF Champions League quarter-finals.
