MSG to host UFC 205 now that MMA is legal in N.Y.

The UFC announced Thursday that Madison Square Garden will host UFC 205 on Nov. 12, after a bill was signed legalizing mixed martial arts in New York.

The announcement for UFC 205 was made during the ceremony to sign the bill, but no fights were announced for the event.

The UFC said it's planning to hold a second event in upstate New York before the end of 2016, but no further details were provided.

The New York Assembly voted to sanction MMA in the state on March 22, ending the UFC's near-decade-long fight to bring the sport back to the Big Apple.
