Nate Diaz might be known as a foul-mouthed cage fighter, but in California he's martial arts royalty.
The California State Assembly awarded Diaz with a plaque commemorating his in-cage accomplishments and his contributions to the community, specifically for his work with students of all ages at Gracie Fighter Jiu-Jitsu in Lodi.
Diaz was unable to accept the award when it was originally issued on April 25 due to having to attend a UFC 200 press conference in New York. During an appearance on The MMA Hour on Wednesday, Diaz said his friend Mikey Singh delivered it to him at his academy.
