Kimbo Slice was diagnosed with heart failure and was waiting for a heart transplant prior to his death at age 42 Monday.
Slice, born as Kevin Ferguson, was placed in intensive care due to heart failure and doctors discovered a liver mass, according to a report obtained by Linda J. Trischitta and Wells Dusenbury of The Sun-Sentinel.
Doctors were reportedly putting Slice on an organ donor list and were seeking to move the fighter to a facility in Cleveland before he died at 7:30 p.m. ET Monday.
Slice posted a 5-2-1 record in his mixed martial arts career. His death was mourned by the fighting community at-large.
