The Bellator MMA women's flyweight division has a star on its hands.
Ilima-Lei MacFarlane kept her perfect MMA record intact with a gritty submission win over Rebecca Ruth at Bellator 157 in St. Louis on Friday.
The 26-year-old MacFarlane went to her wrestling early, winning the first round with long stretches of top control.
In the second round, "The Ilimanator" worked extensively to secure a submission. Ruth defended as best she could, but MacFarlane eventually secured a rear-naked choke for her fourth win in as many contests.
MacFarlane made a name for herself in her MMA debut last January when a video of her knocking out an opponent who resembled a "soccer mom" went viral.
So far, the step up in competition hasn't fazed her.
