Dana White reaffirms GSP 'will not fight again'
UFC president Dana White has long held the opinion that Georges St-Pierre will never return to the Octagon, and that has not changed as rumors of a comeback continue to swirl.
"Georges St-Pierre will not fight again," White said Friday. "I've said that before, and I'll say it again. Georges St-Pierre is done. He's retired. He will not fight again."
St-Pierre has said publicly he's ready to return to fighting, and a matchup with middleweight champion Michael Bisping has been discussed, but financial and endorsement hurdles still appear to be in the way of a return to action.
White remains steadfast in his assertion that one of the UFC's greatest stars is finished.
"I wholeheartedly believe you will never see Georges St-Pierre in the Octagon again unless he's cornering someone," White said.
The possibility exists that White is using his comments as a negotiation tactic, as money seems to be the main sticking point between the two sides. The 35-year-old is also working his way back from a torn ACL suffered in March 2014, but has gone through a full camp in the past six months.
Over the past year, White has continually claimed GSP was "done as a fighter" and questioned whether or not he has the drive to compete at all.
