Lingerie Fighting Championships hope to sign Rousey

The Lingerie Fighting Championships, which apparently exist, have set their sights on Ronda Rousey, according to Mookie Alexander of Bloody Elbow.

LFC producer Shaun Donnelly expressed his hope Wednesday that the former women's bantamweight champion would consider joining his fledgling promotion should she retire from the UFC.

"Ronda Rousey has long been at the very top of our wish list," Donnelly said in a press release. "Not only is she one of the top fighters of all time, she is also a very beautiful woman who isn't afraid to show off her sexy side."

The press release states that Rousey would likely be offered some combination of an appearance fee plus shares of the publicly traded company in order to even approach the compensation she receives from the UFC as one of its most popular stars.

"We have reason to believe that Ms. Rousey might seriously consider a role with Lingerie Fighting Championships, either as a competitor or an ambassador," Donnelly said. "She has been critical in the past at how little female fighters are paid and LFC has always shown a real commitment to paying our fighters very well."

LFC debuted two years ago in Las Vegas. As the name suggests, the in-cage action involves competitors eschewing standard athletic gear in favor of skimpy lingerie or bikinis.

The results from LFC's events do not show up in any fight databases and several of the performers are also professional women's wrestlers, making its legitimacy as a competitive combat sports organization questionable.
