Nick Diaz won't corner brother Nate at UFC 202
A familiar face will be missing from Nate Diaz's corner at UFC 202 on Saturday.
Nate, who's set to fight Conor McGregor in a rematch, usually heads to the cage with his brother Nick in tow. But in a Wednesday interview with Daniel Cormier and Kenny Florian on UFC Tonight, Nate said his brother may not be there to corner him this week.
"There have been technical difficulties with him cornering me, and he might not," Nate said.
According to FOX Sports' Damon Martin, the elder Diaz is still suspended because he has yet to pay the fine stemming from the 18-month suspension he just finished serving.
Bob Bennett, the executive director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, says Nick still owes $75,000 of the $100,000 he was ordered to pay as part of the settlement he had reached after his third strike for marijuana use.
As a result, Nick is prohibited from interacting with his brother, coaches, and corner men at the arena. He is also barred from UFC dressing rooms and the first six rows from the octagon.
