Family thanks Tate for rescuing 6-year-old daughter on hike

Miesha Tate's karma game is the stuff of envy.

The former UFC women's bantamweight champion helped an injured a 6-year-old girl while hiking near Las Vegas on Sunday. The child, named Kai, broke her arm atop the Mary Jane Falls hiking trail, and Tate offered to carry her for the 2.6-mile descent so her parents could get Kai to a hospital faster.

Kai's parents recounted the incident and ensuing rescue on Instagram. The child also expressed her gratitude in a video the fighter posted on her own account Monday morning:

Such a crazy labor day weekend for our family but ended in such an amazing and beautiful way. My poor Kai broke her arm at the top of the Mary Jane Falls hike at Mt Charleston. So @mommapook and I basically had to carry her down miles ahead. To our rescue and assistance came the amazing @mieshatate the UFC fighter. She offered to help us carry her down the mountain. Such an amazing and humble person to have met. Our family cant thank you enough for all the help. You saved us easily hours of hiking and helped us get her to the hospital sooner. Tear jerker! Meet Kai the sweet little girl that kept me company down the mountain side, very upbeat despite her broken arm. And I just have to say this was one of the most rewarding days of my athletic career. And I also want to make a point that I have been told many times that I am "too buff" or "manly" that I should stop lifting weights, that it's "gross" and not attractive for a woman. I am so happy I never listened to the limitations others wanted to put on me and I hope that our youth knows that don't have to conform. Tate has played guardian angel once before. She successfully performed mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on boyfriend and fellow UFC fighter Bryan Caraway's mother, who's severely asthmatic, on a 2014 snorkeling trip in Mexico.
