Iaquinta-Alves rumored for UFC 205
More than a year removed from his last fight, Al Iaquinta will reportedly end his lengthy layoff in his native New York in a lightweight fight against Thiago Alves.
The two will meet at UFC 205, the promotion's first event in New York City, according to MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani. The UFC has yet to confirm the bout.
Iaquinta has won four in a row, but hasn't fought since April of 2015. He's won all but two of his UFC fights, holding a career record of 12-3-1.
Alves, a former welterweight contender, is coming off a layoff of his own. He last fought in May of 2015, losing to Carlos Condit by TKO. Aside from Iaquinta, "Pitbull" will face a familiar foe as he tries his luck at 155 pounds: the scale. He's missed weight twice before as a welterweight.
UFC 205 is scheduled for Nov. 12 at Madison Square Garden.
