UFC personalities tweet support for hospitalized Samman
The MMA community is rallying around Josh Samman amid reports that he's currently comatose in a South Florida hospital.
According to the Tallahassee Democrat, Samman and roommate Troy Kirkingburg were discovered unconscious at their residence in Florida early Friday. Kirkingburg was pronounced dead on arrival. No cause has been given for their respective conditions.
Kirkingburg, known among MMA fans as an announcer in the Florida region, was 28 years old. His obituary was posted by the Eagle Funeral Homes website Saturday.
The UFC has not commented on the situation, but a spokesperson told MMA Fighting they're in communication with Samman's management team.
Though details are scarce, Samman's friends have been tweeting their thoughts and prayers for the fighter. That includes his Ultimate Fighter 17 castmate Uriah Hall, and Oluwale Bamgbose, the fighter Samman is scheduled to face Dec. 9.
