Using wrestling techniques that brought his father so much success, Ryan Couture ended up regretting that strategy at Bellator 162 on Friday.
Randy's boy took Goiti Yamauchi down early in their lightweight contest at FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tenn., but that was Couture's only success on this night. A gifted submission expert, Yamauchi swiftly wrapped Couture in an armbar to close out the contest at the 1:01 mark of the opening round.
Yamauchi recorded the 16th submission win of his 23-fight career, while Couture was forced to tap for the first time.
