Mike Goldberg issues statement following departure from UFC
Mike Goldberg has broken his silence.
The longtime UFC play-by-play man issued a statement on Twitter following his final broadcast with the promotion at UFC 207 last week. Goldberg - who called the promotion home for 19 years - thanked those who took the time to bid him farewell, and even dabbled in some self-deprecation in reference to one of his most infamous on-air flubs.
What an incredible ride! I’ll forever be grateful for being on this journey with all of you for the last 19 years! pic.twitter.com/reg3APxk9X

"Goldie" - who didn't reveal his next endeavor - joined the UFC in 1997, calling color commentator Joe Rogan his partner for the bulk of his tenure. President Dana White announced UFC 207 would mark his last broadcast with the company just a few days prior, and his departure wasn't addressed during the show.
The promotion has yet to tap Goldberg's permanent replacement.
