The UFC has announced Anderson Silva will make his return to the Octagon at UFC 208 in Brooklyn against Derek Brunson in a middleweight clash.
"The Spider" has not been seen since he stepped in to face Daniel Cormier on short notice at UFC 200 in July.
The veteran with the 33-8 record has lost four out of his last five contests. The other fight was a no contest with Nick Diaz in 2015. His last win came in 2012 over Stephan Bonnar.
Brunson, on the other hand, had been steadily climbing the middleweight ladder with five consecutive victories - four by first-round knockout - before losing to Robert Whittaker in a Fight of the Night bout in November.
Silva and Brunson represent the No. 7- and No. 8-ranked middleweights, respectively.
