Mackenzie Dern booked to return at LFA 6
Mackenzie Dern is getting back in the saddle.
The 23-year-old Brazilian jiu-jitsu virtuoso will face former Golden Gloves champion Katherine Roy in a strawweight bout at Legacy Fighting Alliance 6 on March 10 in San Antonio, the promotion announced Wednesday on its Facebook page.
The bout marks Dern's first under the newly formed promotion's banner, having won both of her pro bouts before "feeder" promotions Legacy FC and Resurrection Fighting Alliance made their merger into the LFA official. The highly touted prospect tapped Montana Stewart with an Imanari choke - of all things - in under a round in her most recent outing last October.
Roy, 31, returns to her native San Antonio after taking a unanimous decision over May Ooi at a WSOF event in her MMA debut last July.
LFA 6 will be headlined by a featherweight tilt between Rivaldo Junior and Ray Rodriguez.
