Report: NSAC grants McGregor's request in disciplinary case
The Nevada State Athletic Commission has granted Conor McGregor's request to potentially rehear his disciplinary case for the bottle-throwing incident from August at a presser for UFC 202, reports Brett Okamoto of ESPN.
The NSAC will reportedly vote in March whether the case will be reheard, and if it passes, they will do so immediately.
McGregor needs to settle the case with the NCAC before he can get a boxing license, which is, of course, needed if he's to agree to a bout with Floyd Mayweather.
The Irishman was fined $150,000 and ordered to complete 50 hours community service in October for the incident between him and Nate Diaz, his UFC 202 opponent.
The Nevada Attorney General suggested a $25,000 fine, along with 25 days of community service, and Okamoto speculated the harsh punishment "didn't sit well with some NSAC members."
At the time, McGregor said the huge fine meant he no longer wanted to fight in Nevada, though he has since softened his stance.
