Gerald Meerschaert made sure that the UFC's most recent trip to Canada began in disappointing fashion for the home team.
The submission-minded Meerschaert needed just 94 seconds to trap Newfoundland's Ryan Janes in a tight armbar from bottom position. It was applied with such precision that Janes was only in the hold for a brief moment before tapping out to save his limb from further danger.
