Lee makes weight on 2nd attempt; title fights official for UFC 216
Kevin Lee said he had 19 pounds to cut before weigh-ins on Friday and it took him an extra 60 minutes to shed all of it.
Lee missed weight on his first attempt Friday morning and was afforded another hour to reach 155 pounds. Lee weighed in at 154.5 pounds on his second attempt, paving the way for his interim lightweight title bout with Tony Ferguson at UFC 216 on Saturday.
Ferguson met the pound limit, as did Demetrious Johnson and Ray Borg ahead of their flyweight title fight.
However, a prelim bout between Will Brooks and Nik Lentz was canceled as Lentz had to pull out for medical reasons. The card will continue with 12 fights.
