Jones will face media Friday for 1st time since USADA suspension

Jon Jones will be in Buffalo, N.Y., this weekend for both business and pleasure.

Following his announcement that he'll attend UFC 210 on Saturday to watch rival Daniel Cormier defend the light heavyweight championship against Anthony "Rumble" Johnson, Jones will also speak to media on Friday, according to a press release from the UFC.

Though he's remained active on social media and made several public appearances, this will be Jones' first time facing the media since he received a one-year suspension in November for a USADA violation stemming from a July 2016 test. That violation removed him from the main event of UFC 200 and cost him the opportunity to regain the light heavyweight title from Cormier.

It was the second time that a rematch between the two men had fallen through, with a UFC 197 encounter ruined by a Cormier leg injury. Jones and Cormier previously fought at UFC 182 in January 2015, a bout that Jones won by unanimous decision in what would be his last title defense.

"Bones" would then be stripped of the title a few months later after being arrested for his involvement in a hit-and-run incident. He returned to win an interim title at UFC 197 in Cormier's absence, only to see that belt vacated as well after receiving his suspension from the USADA.

The current suspension ends in July 2017, making Jones eligible to compete this summer, potentially against the winner of Saturday's main event.
