Gall uses 'MMA math' to declare himself UFC heavyweight champion

Kyle Terada / USA TODAY

Fight fans love using "MMA math" to predict how future matches might turn out or to justify one fighter's dominance over another without the two actually ever facing off.

UFC welterweight prospect Mickey Gall took this philosophy to the extreme Tuesday as he worked out a formula that somehow makes him the rightful heavyweight champion:

Gall cleverly uses CM Punk's professional wrestling career to bridge the gap between himself and former champion Brock Lesnar, and from there it only takes a little imagination to figure out how his win over Punk translates into him essentially getting the better of UFC heavyweight king Stipe Miocic.

Many pundits have Gall pegged as a future titleholder, but nobody thought it would happen this quickly.
