The city of Stockton, Calif., is paying homage to one of its proudest native sons.
The Stockton Ports - minor league baseball club of the Oakland Athletics - will be giving away bobbleheads of longtime UFC stalwart Nick Diaz to their first 1,000 fans to arrive at their upcoming game against the San Jose Giants.
In a show of full commitment to the tribute, the game is set to start at 2:09 p.m., a nod to the California city's area code Diaz and brother Nate have popularized throughout their lengthy careers.
Nate will be honored with his own bobblehead giveaway on July 14 in a game against the Inland Empire 66ers.
