Means draws Alex Garcia at UFC Oklahoma City
Tim Means will soon throw down a hop, skip, and jump from his birthplace.
The Wilburton, Okla.-born, New Mexico-bred Means is set to meet Alex Garcia in a welterweight bout on June 25 at UFC Fight Night 112 in Oklahoma City. The matchup wasn't formally announced by the promotion, but was recently added to the event's webpage.
After the illegal knees he landed to a downed Alex Oliveira's head rendered their December clash a no contest, "The Dirty Bird" fell short in the rematch at UFC Fight Night 106, where he tapped to a rear-naked choke in the second round. Means had knocked out John Howard and Sabah Homasi before his pair of dates with the Brazilian, and now takes a UFC record of 8-5 into the June tilt.
Garcia was stopped by Sean Strickland last February, but ended 2016 on the highest of notes, obliterating the crafty Mike Pyle by first-round knockout at UFC 207. "The Dominican Nightmare" holds a promotional slate of 4-2.
UFC Fight Night 112 will be hosted at Chesapeake Energy Arena and headlined by a tilt between top-15 lightweights Michael Chiesa and Kevin Lee.
