Garbrandt flying to Germany for back treatment, much to Dillashaw's chagrin
A face-to-face meeting between rivals Cody Garbrandt and TJ Dillashaw won't be going down in Dallas on Friday, and a future fight could be in jeopardy.
Dillashaw was apparently told that he would no longer be needed at the "UFC Summer Kickoff" press conference, and he blamed the cancellation on Garbrandt's reluctance to show up. He took to Instagram to question whether the UFC bantamweight champion will even show up to their title fight at UFC 213 on July 8:
Garbrandt later tweeted (and then deleted) that he is currently headed to Germany for his second back treatment in under three months. He did not mention the possibility of pulling out of his title defense.
The two fighters are currently opposing each other as coaches on "The Ultimate Fighter 25." There is plenty of bad blood between them - Garbrandt claims to have video of him knocking out Dillashaw back when the two were training partners at Team Alpha Male.
