McGregor applies for boxing license in Nevada

Conor McGregor applied for a boxing license Thursday, the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) confirmed to MMAJunkie.com.

The NSAC is currently waiting for further documentation from McGregor before making a decision on whether to grant him a license or not. McGregor will need to submit brain scans among other tests.

This development comes on the heels of UFC president Dana White announcing that McGregor has signed his portion of a contract to square off against Floyd Mayweather.

McGregor was previously issued a boxing license to fight in California last November. Previously, McGregor wasn't allowed to apply for a license in Nevada due to an outstanding $150,000 fine issued by the commission, a sanction that was eventually resolved.

When asked about a prospective bout against McGregor, Mayweather elected to defer comment, focusing on a fight between Gervonta Davis and Liam Walsh.
