Dillashaw-Garbrandt title fight called off for UFC 213
UFC president Dana White announced Tuesday that the upcoming bantamweight title fight at UFC 213 between Cody Garbrandt and T.J. Dillashaw has been called off.
Garbrandt is battling through a back injury.
"After his last round of treatment in Germany, they told him he'd need four weeks to rest," White said to ESPN's Brett Okamoto. "That would have put him two weeks out from the fight."
White said Dillashaw will instead face flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson in August.
"With Cody out, we're going to make T.J. versus Mighty Mouse (Johnson). That's the plan."
UFC 213 will be headlined by a bantamweight title fight between Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko. A newly announced interim middleweight fight between Yoel Romero and Robert Whittaker will operate as the co-main event.
