Lesnar to Jones: 'Be careful what you wish for, young man'
Brock Lesnar didn't waste any time responding to a challenge from new UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones.
Jones reclaimed his title with a third-round KO of Daniel Cormier at UFC 214 Saturday night and immediately set his sights on the former UFC heavyweight champ and current WWE titleholder.
"Be careful what you wish for, young man," Lesnar said to The Associated Press of the callout.
There's an obvious weight difference between the two fighters, as Jones competes at 205 pounds and Lesnar weighs in at 265, but a bout between them may be too tantalizing to ignore. Lesnar, a superstar in both the fighting and wrestling communities, also headlined UFC's spotlight 200 card, but was suspended due to two failed drug tests.
Jones is the consensus pound-for-pound best the UFC has to offer and clearly hopes for a big-money, crossover bout.
"I think Brock has a limited game. I think it's a winnable fight," Jones said.
While both combatants sound willing, UFC president Dana White pumped the brakes.
"It's fun to talk about, but the reality of it happening anytime soon - it's not a reality," White said.
