Michael Buffer not doing Mayweather-McGregor, Bruce a possibility
Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor might be "ready to rumble," but that famous catchphrase won't be uttered by Michael Buffer on fight night.
The world's most famous boxing announcer told TMZ Sports that prior obligations will keep him from working the Aug. 26 superfight in Las Vegas between Mayweather and McGregor. But when asked if his brother Bruce was available, Buffer hinted that the veteran voice of the Octagon could already be in negotiations.
"I think that's a distinct possibility," said Buffer. "I'm keeping my fingers crossed, I hope so."
Bruce's "it's time" call is almost as well known as his older brother's signature three-word declaration, and Michael believes Bruce could have something extra special for the upcoming combat-sports extravaganza.
"There might be a really big surprise for Bruce Buffer appearing in that thing - something's cooking," said Buffer. "I'll let you know later, or he will, with McGregor and Mayweather."
