Malignaggi: McGregor 'one of the biggest dirtbags I've ever met'
Paulie Malignaggi isn't short on opinions about Conor McGregor.
Since leaving McGregor's training camp - where he was helping prepare the UFC fighter for a boxing match against Floyd Mayweather - Malignaggi has spoken extensively about his negative experience as the Irishman's sparring partner.
He previously called McGregor "cheap" and insulted his abilities in the ring, but took things a step further on Monday.
"This guy is one of the biggest dirtbags I've ever met in my life - bar none," Malignaggi said to Ariel Helwani on "The MMA Hour," according to Scooby Axson of Sports Illustrated.
"I was amazed at what a dirtbag this person is. I don't care if we never speak again. My life is fine if I never see Conor McGregor again."
What incited the string of criticisms was an Instagram post that appeared to depict McGregor dropping Malignaggi during a sparring session; Malignaggi claimed he was pushed down.
Regardless of how McGregor's bout with Mayweather turns out on Aug. 26, perhaps he could have a second fight lined up with Malignaggi - a welterweight with a career 36-8 record.
