The death of amateur MMA fighter Rondel Clark is under investigation in Massachusetts after the 26-year-old died in hospital following a TKO loss, according to MMA Fighting's Marc Raimondi, citing multiple reports.

Clark lost to Ryan Dunn in the third round at Cage Titans 35 in Plymouth, Mass. on Saturday and died Tuesday in hospital. Plymouth County DA Timothy Cruz confirmed an investigation by state police, the Plymouth P.D., the DA's office, and the Massachusetts State Athletic Commission was launched Tuesday.

Clark was rushed to hospital in Plymouth on Saturday night and later transferred to a medical center in Boston. Clark was not knocked out by one particularly dangerous shot, rather being defeated when Dunn gained control and landed "what seemed to be relatively weak punches," according to Raimondi.

Cage Titans issued a statement via Instagram on Tuesday, expressing condolences to Clark's family. The fight was just the second of Clark's amateur MMA career after he recorded a 25-second knockout win in his debut match in June.
