McGregor shoots down Mayweather's weight speculation
Conor McGregor is dismissing Floyd Mayweather's claim that the mixed martial artist is scrambling to make Friday's official weight of 154 pounds.
"Let him keep praying - praying for weight, praying for fatigue, praying for me to take a back step," McGregor said in response Wednesday, according to Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times.
"All he's doing is praying. But he's praying to the new god of boxing."
Since his UFC debut in 2013, McGregor has never missed weight prior to a fight.

Mayweather said he had inside information that indicated McGregor was finding it difficult to make weight.
"I know every detail of a fighter, every detail that goes on in their camp," Mayweather said. "If he (makes weight), he does. If he doesn't, he doesn't."
If Mayweather or McGregor were to miss the target at Friday's weigh-in, they'd be penalized financially, but the bout would proceed regardless, according to Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe.
"McGregor's going to make the weight, trust me," Ellerbe said, "I'm not remotely concerned about that. He's a professional, and he's always shown he's going to make weight."
