The UFC's maiden voyage to Liverpool will have to wait.

After president Dana White recently floated moving February's UFC on FOX 28 from Orlando to the U.K. to capitalize on Liverpool native Darren Till's growing star power, Lance Pugmire of The LA Times reports the card will remain in Florida.

The event is currently scheduled for Feb. 24, a date Cage Warriors has already booked for Liverpool's Echo Arena.

According to Pugmire, the promotion still aims to pit the surging Till against fellow welterweight Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson in the British city. However, the latter is currently sidelined with an injury sustained at UFC 217 earlier this month and doesn't appear to be interested in facing the undefeated Scouser.

Till doesn't aim to remain idle in the interim, having set his sights on another rising contender in Kamaru Usman, who may be without an opponent for UFC 219 on Dec. 30 after original dance partner Emil Meek revealed he's encountered delays in obtaining a visa to make the date.

Both Till and Usman appear to be game, although they can't seem to agree on who should set the proverbial wheels in motion:

Till last dispatched Donald Cerrone at UFC Fight Night 118 in October, while Usman most recently KO'd Sergio Moraes at UFC Fight Night 116 the previous month.
