Conor McGregor appeared to respond to reports of his possible involvement in a bar fight with a member of the Kinahan drug cartel Thursday, shouting "Come and get me" as he drove away from court.
The UFC lightweight champion was in court to face a speeding charge, for which he was fined €400.
Ken Foy and Robin Schiller of the Irish Independent reported Tuesday that "a well-known Irish celebrity" assaulted "a close associate of a senior Kinahan cartel henchman" at a Dublin pub. Irish police confirmed to The Daily Mail that they're aware of allegations McGregor was involved in the brawl.
McGregor further fueled speculation by posting a cryptic Instagram video with the caption, "The celebrity," but his father, Tony, dismissed the reports.
"That's all nonsense, that is," Tony told the Irish Mirror. "Absolute nonsense. It's an absolute nonsense story. It's grown legs and it's getting that ridiculous - it's become funny. We have nothing to fear here whatsoever. There's no one after us for anything. We're a law-abiding family and we've stayed a law-abiding family."
