Triple H dismisses Rousey-to-WWE reports: 'That's news to me'
Ronda Rousey appears serious about pursuing a professional wrestling career, but Paul "Triple H" Levesque says reports of the former UFC women's bantamweight champion finalizing details to join WWE are premature.
Levesque - WWE's executive vice president of talent, live events, and creative - insisted the two sides have yet to reach a deal while appearing on CBS Sports' "In This Corner with Brian Campbell" podcast Tuesday.
"It's funny because every now and then I wake up and I look at either social media or the news and I see a report and it's like, well, that's news to me because I'm the one who would be having that conversation," Levesque said. "So it's interesting with 'sources say.'"
However, he did note that there's mutual interest in getting a deal done.
"Everybody is very busy and I know that from Ronda's side and her team, they are looking for an opportunity," Levesque said. "I have made it very clear that an opportunity exists and it's just a matter of us getting together and having conversations."
Rousey hasn't appeared in the Octagon since losing to Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 in December 2016. UFC president Dana White stated last month that he "wouldn't want to see" her come back.
