Top prospect Pico draws Krutchen at Bellator 192
Top featherweight prospect Aaron Pico will look to make it two in a row just a hop, skip, and a jump from his hometown.
Pico is set to take on Shane Krutchen in his third pro bout at Bellator 192 on Jan. 20 at the Forum in Inglewood, Calif., officials told Alexander K. Lee of MMA Fighting on Thursday following a report from MyMMANews' Eric Kowal.
Pico - a native of nearby Whittier - tapped to Zach Freeman just 24 seconds into his much-ballyhooed professional debut at Bellator NYC this past June, but righted the ship with a first-round KO of Justin Linn three months later at Bellator 183.
Much like Pico's first two dance partners, Krutchen owns a significant edge in experience - he'll make his Bellator debut with a pro record of 12-3. The 33-year-old last competed under the World Series of Fighting banner in December 2016, when he outpointed Jeremy Mahon on all three scorecards.
At Bellator 192, Douglas Lima will defend his welterweight crown against Rory MacDonald in the main event, Chael Sonnen takes on Quinton "Rampage" Jackson in the opening bout of an eight-man heavyweight tourney, and former lightweight champ Michael Chandler faces Goiti Yamauchi.
