Pichel, 2 others hit with indefinite medical suspensions after UFC Charlotte
A trio of fighters could be sidelined for some time in relation to their fights at UFC on FOX 27.
Flyweight Justine Kish, lightweight Vinc Pichel, and featherweight Austin Arnett are facing indefinite medical suspensions for a variety of injuries sustained on last weekend's bill in Charlotte, according to records MMA Fighting obtained from the North Carolina Boxing Authority on Wednesday.
All three fighters must obtain medical clearance for a return to action. Pichel was the sole fighter of the three to get his hand raised on fight night, taking a unanimous decision over Joaquim Silva, while Kish dropped a split decision to Ji Yeon Kim and Arnett fell to fellow newcomer Cory Sandhagen by second-round TKO.
Strawweight Randa Markos was hit with a six-montn ban related to her unanimous decision win over Juliana Lima, but like the above-mentioned trio, she can get back in the saddle sooner with a physician's blessing.
The full list of the card's medical suspensions is as follows:
- Justine Kish: Suspended indefinitely, requires medical clearance for nasal fracture (X-ray), right knee, and left shoulder
- Vinc Pinchel: Suspended indefinitely, requires medical ophthalmology clearance on right eye injury
- Austin Arnett: Suspended indefinitely, requires medical clearance for nasal trauma (X-ray for possible fracture); minimum suspension of 30 days due to TKO loss
- Randa Markos: Suspended 180 days maximum for left knee pain (recommends MRI)
- Derek Brunson: Suspended 30 days due to TKO loss
- Dennis Bermudez: Suspended 30 days due to right foot
- Jordan Rinaldi: Suspended 30 days due to TKO loss
- Drew Dober: Suspended 30 days due to left eyebrow
- Frank Camacho: Suspended 30 days
- Bobby Green: Suspended 30 days due to right knee pain
- Erik Koch: Suspended 30 days due to left eye laceration
- Mirsad Bektic: Suspended 30 days due to left leg pain
- Godofredo Pepey: Suspended 30 days due to TKO loss
- Mara Romero Borella: Suspended 30 days due to left elbow pain
- Niko Price: Suspended 30 days due to laceration on right brow
