Tonon's MMA debut set for ONE Championship event on March 24
Garry Tonon will make his maiden voyage to the cage in under three weeks' time.
The Brazilian jiu-jitsu whiz is set to face Richard Corminal in a lightweight bout at a ONE Championship event on March 24 at Impact Arena in Bangkok.
Tonon, a member of the famed "Danaher Death Squad," submitted former lightweight champion Shinya Aoki in a grappling match under the ONE banner last May before making the Asian promotion the home of his MMA foray in October.
Corminal has suffered two first-round stoppage losses in as many ONE appearances, and welcomes Tonon to the sport with a professional record of 4-3.
In the bill's main event, reigning two-division champ Martin Nguyen will look to add Bibiano Fernandes' bantamweight crown to a trophy case already boasting lightweight and featherweight titles.
