Watch: Dern scores win over Cooper via RNC after missing weight
Jason Silva / USA TODAY Sports
One day after missing weight by seven pounds, Mackenzie Dern used a rear-naked choke to earn a first-round submission win over Amanda Cooper on the main card of UFC 224.
Cooper was awarded a portion of Dern's show money to keep the fight on but said Friday that she felt disrespected by the lack of effort to get under 115 pounds.
The win moved Dern, a former Brazilian jiu-jitsu champion, to 7-0 in her MMA career and 2-0 in the UFC.
