UFC 224 ties modern record for most finishes with 11
There may not have been a ton of hype going into UFC 224, but the night in Rio de Janeiro was one that won't be forgotten soon.
With eleven fights ending before the final horn, the event tied with UFC Fight Night 55 for the modern UFC record for finishes, according to Michael Carroll of Fight Metric.
Amanda Nunes' fifth-round TKO over Raquel Pennington in the main event was the final finish needed to tie the mark. Mackenzie Dern, John Lineker, Lyoto Machida, Cezar Ferreira, Aleksei Oleinik, Davi Ramos, Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos, Warlley Alves, Jack Hermansson, and Markus Perez all notched wins by knockout, TKO, or submission earlier in the night.
Kelvin Gastelum and Ramazan Emeev were the only fighters to secure their wins on the judges' scorecards. UFC Fight Night 55 in November 2014 did not see a single fight go to a decision.
