Anderson Silva will fight Jared Cannonier on May 11 at UFC 237 in his native Brazil, president Dana White told ESPN's Brett Okamoto.

The Spider requested a spot on the card for what may be his final fight. He hasn't fought in his home country since 2012.

Silva is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Israel Adesanya at UFC 234 on Feb. 10. The 43-year-old has just one victory in his last seven trips to the Octagon.

Cannonier is the ninth-ranked middleweight contender and defeated David Branch in his most recent outing at UFC 230 in November.

A women's strawweight title match between champion Rose Namajunas and challenger Jessica Andrade is among the other bouts on tap for UFC 237.
